She’s in her eighties now
At the end of a blessed life
Her husband has passed on already
But she continues to find joy
In her son and in his sons
Her grandsons tower over her
With their height and their strength
My friend has suffered
One of the biggest losses
Of her life

Some things are [...]

I accepted a bland life. And forgot what my heart was for
I thought you were my burden, my own little cross to bear
All my guilt from past mistakes had left its wear and tear
You felt no shame in taking advantage of [...]
We are all sitting around playing silly games
And the one that pretends best wins
I wonder how long I can keep floating through
Before they realize I can’t be part of this charade
We live in a world where some can get everything for nothing
And there are good people who [...]
